This is the chocolate cake that I baked for Boyfriend's birthday. =)

With slices of banana and chocolate granache in between. Covered with lots of granache....
This cake was soooooooo very sinful. I had to fight with Boyfriend for the cake because it was too good and he wanted it all for himself.

Feeling awesome because the cake was successful! Heh heh heh...

Had dinner with boyfriend at Mitsuba. The chef that was previously from Wasabi Tei, then Chikuwa Tei and this is he most recent restaurant. The chef was there today.
The appetiser is not the seaweed with peanuts... I was looking forward to it. =(

I had the Sushi rice with salmon and swordfish. The salmon wasn't cut evenly but I have got to say it's fresh. Swordfish is really nice though, I could feel the juice coming out from every bite.

Boyfriend had the Unagi set. Well marinated and yummy.

Bake: Cake mix cookies.

09 April 2012

I have a box of cake mix and a block of chocolate that I didn't really want anymore. I decided to use them to make cookies.

I follow the recipe i found online but I think... this is a fail. Not yummy. Go google for the recipe yourself if you want it.

I didn't managed to take a picture of the bread. It was gone before I remember taking it.

Bake: Rice Cooker Bread

01 March 2012

Baking this bread requires you to have a modern rice cooker, the kind that has a timer capability. Easier for those who are not very good with baking.

As for me, I only have the old rice cooker at home and it keeps going off when there's no water or it's hot enough. All I have to do is to keep watching the cooker, keep turning it on every 10 mins after it goes off.

Ingredients:
350g bread or strong flour
21g butter
21g sugar
35ml milk
180ml water
5g dry yeast
6.5g salt

Steps:
1. Mix some water with the yeast and put aside.
2. Put in all the ingredients, except the butter.
3. Mix and knead until all the ingredients combine together and shape it into a ball.
4. Put the butter into the center of the dough and knead until it combines well and the dough becomes less oily and less sticky. Shape into a ball again.
5. Leave the dough in the rice cooker and cover, let it rise for an hour in a warm area.

6. After an hour, bring out the dough from the rice cooker. Drop the dough from a height of 50cm from the tabletop to release the air trapped inside the dough. Do not punch the dough.
7. Put it back into the rice cooker, cover and let it rise again for another hour (secondary fermentation).
8. Turn on the rice cooker and set timer for 1 hour.
9. Once the 1st hour of baking has ended, turn it over using a spatula. Bake for another hour 1 hour.
10. After the 2nd hour, turn it over again. Continue to bake for one last hour.
11. When the baking is completed, remove bread from the rice cooker and leave it on a wire rack to cool.

Hope you'll enjoy baking your bread too. =)

Brought some cupcakes for Pi.

Yum. A little too sweet, can't figure out whether it is due to the frosting or the cookie dough. Oh well.

Met up for a short dinner with my girl friends at Ichiban Sushi.

Totally didn't expect this because we decided to postpone my birthday celebration to another day. Aww~ And I didn't bring my camera along.

Thank you girls for the surprise and birthday gift! =)

Met up with Pi after dinner for a movie, he totally like these Satay Broad Beans after I've introduced them to him.

Boyfriend's birthday tomorrow, his presents are all ready - a top from F21, shuffle, card and lots of handsewn love from me. =)

All packed in a strawberry cake box.

Baked a chocolate cake too.

Covered with nutella and some red icing. Cute right?

Delivered everything to boyfriend's house before we go for a movie, it was already past 12am midnight when we get back. I'm going to stayover at his place then we could go to work together the next morning. Yeah!

Time for the cake.

Say 'cheeseeeeee'.

Happy Birthday to Pi!
