Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition and Max Brenner Chocolate Bar.

03 March 2012

A day out with boyfriend. It's a date!

Here we are! Going over the helix bridge.

At the Artscience Museum.

To see the Titanic!

On the way there.

There was this huge Salvatore Ferragamo heels.

Yeah!

We got our own boarding pass.

I was Miss Hilda Mary Slater, who was going to get married with a British Baron soon.

Boyfriend was Colonel John Jacob Astor IV.

I took a few pictures inside, not suppose to but I felt that I needed to take them as memories.

This is how Titanic looks like.

Entrances and corridors.

Beautiful lights.

The grand staircase.

There was a whole load of artifacts and I must say they were beautiful. Even the things that people who are from the lowest class used beautifully crafted items. I wished I could take them all home. I believe you can view some of the artifacts here or even just google yourself. Oh! There was this leather boots, very old and messy looking but I was totally in love with it. Too bad I was not able to get a picture of it.

Also! Also! A huge piece of ice in the exhibition for people to have a feeling how cold it was on the sea. You'll see a lot of hand prints on the ice as people want to leave their marks. I tried leaving my own too but it's too cold, so it wasn't obvious.

Sorry if I don't have much pictures to show but I would recommend you to experience it yourself, although the tickets are a little expensive. I take it as appreciation of what the researchers and divers have done over the years.

So that's how the LV boutique looks like.

Waiting for a water show to start.

Dinner in my hands.

Good view.

The show has started.

Very random storyline. I don't know what they are trying to say.

Just there to watch the water show, lightings.and a little fireworks.

Beautiful reflection here.

The flat Singapore Flyer.

Finally going to try some chocolaty stuffs at Max Brenner Chocolate Bar! I'm a huge lover for chocolates!

A rough idea of what we are ordering.

I have no idea what is the name of this milkshake already but I'm guessing that it should be the pure Chocolate Truffle Granita. It was sinfully rich.

Introducing Suckao.

Put the chocolate in first, to melt them a little.

Then the milk. I do hope they could give a little more milk because it does get a little overly thick at the end of it because there is quite a lot of chocolate. No wonder it's a 'shot'.

The metal spoon is also a straw, use it to stir the hot cacao and drink using it too.

Heavenly stuff. I die of happiness.

We got a fondue too. Not that amazing but I do like the freshly fried banana and I goes well with the chocolate sauce.

I'll be back definitely but not so soon!

Eat: Freshness Burger.

02 March 2012

First time at Freshness Burger, I have a lot of first times.

There are different sauces to choose from.

And I took this because it just looks interesting.

Apple and berries tea and iced matcha. The matcha is too milky.

I had the freshness burger, I still prefer MOS burger though. Must be due to the difference in their sauce or maybe I just used to MOS burger's taste.

Boyfriend had the chicken katsu burger, it would look tastier if they melt the cheese on the chicken katsu.

By the way after the meal, I suffered from diarrhoea, so you know... it's food poisoning. Feel free to risk it if you don't mind.

I did got for a job interview today, not reviewing which company it is. I do think that they have no idea what kind of staff they are looking for. They want to get somebody who is somewhat of a manager position with 5 years experience and only willing to pay around 2.5k. Seriously?

Even offered me an admin position. Damn idiots.

Bake: Rice Cooker Bread

01 March 2012

Baking this bread requires you to have a modern rice cooker, the kind that has a timer capability. Easier for those who are not very good with baking.

As for me, I only have the old rice cooker at home and it keeps going off when there's no water or it's hot enough. All I have to do is to keep watching the cooker, keep turning it on every 10 mins after it goes off.

Ingredients:
350g bread or strong flour
21g butter
21g sugar
35ml milk
180ml water
5g dry yeast
6.5g salt

Steps:
1. Mix some water with the yeast and put aside.
2. Put in all the ingredients, except the butter.
3. Mix and knead until all the ingredients combine together and shape it into a ball.
4. Put the butter into the center of the dough and knead until it combines well and the dough becomes less oily and less sticky. Shape into a ball again.
5. Leave the dough in the rice cooker and cover, let it rise for an hour in a warm area.

6. After an hour, bring out the dough from the rice cooker. Drop the dough from a height of 50cm from the tabletop to release the air trapped inside the dough. Do not punch the dough.
7. Put it back into the rice cooker, cover and let it rise again for another hour (secondary fermentation).
8. Turn on the rice cooker and set timer for 1 hour.
9. Once the 1st hour of baking has ended, turn it over using a spatula. Bake for another hour 1 hour.
10. After the 2nd hour, turn it over again. Continue to bake for one last hour.
11. When the baking is completed, remove bread from the rice cooker and leave it on a wire rack to cool.

Hope you'll enjoy baking your bread too. =)
