We were once student nurses.

12 September 2009

Dinner at Alaturka, we only have 1 hour to order, wait for the chef to cook and eat, as the table was reserved for another group of customers at 8pm.

We were seated in a private cosy area with nice deco but it was hot inside due to the lack of aircon.

Drinks: lime juice, Turkish mint tea...

My Turkish apple tea was yummy, tasted like preserved apple tea.

Do note the amount of food we ordered for 8 people, once all the food was served, I looked at my watch. I said, "Eh, 20 mins only." and everyone started stuffing themselves with food.

Borek, pastry in feta cheese, $4.50. We ordered 2 sets to share.

Meze tabagi, assorted mix mezzes plate combination, $14.00. 6 different dips in total: hummus, sardine, beetroot... I don't know the rest.

Lavash, balloon bread with sesame seed bread, $2.50. This bread goes together with Meze tabagi dips, we feel cheated by the waitress, she recommended us to order another extra to share but we pack the extra bread home instead.

Imam bayildi, stuffed deep fried eggplant with on top gtatine cheese, $7.50. Two servings too. The veggies were stewed till soft and delicious, goes very well with a bowl of rice.

Etlipide, chicken or lamb stuffed baked bread, $9.50. Make it two, we ordered another flavour. This is just like pizza, nothing much to talk about.

Karisik kebab, combination of kebabs, $19. Waitress said it was good for 2 people but it looks like it was good for 4. I think I was already sick of the food after stuffing so much, this should be good too.

Half the group left early as they have night shifts, the rest of us continued chilling and chit-chatting at MOS burger. Let's have another gathering soon? =)
